He adds affectionately, "It was very nice to get your drunken telegram this morning and to realize that you haven't improved in the least," going on to report on the weather, his work on the film Rosalie, and his plans for Christmas: "It's going to be one of those evenings where everybody gives a present to everybody else and it's going to cost us all a hell of a lot of money by the time they get out of the house." His children are shown playing together with the children of the Blüthner piano manufacturing family around the Christmas tree at the home of the Blüthners. The scene and family members have been identified by the youngest daughter of the family, Kyriena, on the verso in Russian. On the floor are Alexander Siloti (Siloti's eldest son), Lev Siloti, a Blüthner daughter, Oxana Siloti, and a Blüthner son; standing to the left of the tree are "Mlle.
