Translated from the German, in part: I ask your permanent conductors to prepare the programs…so that I can get off with only two rehearsals…Is the concert before an audience or just on the radio?…What do you think of the following program: Also sprach Zarathustra; Couperin Suite; Death and Transfiguration; Or: Prelude to Guntram; Don Juan; Suite from Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme; Till Eulenspiegel." 2 pp. on recto and verso of a single sheet, 4.25 x 7 inches. Autograph Postcard and Photograph - "mailing [my works] during the war...opens a risk to which I would not like to expose myself"

Autograph postcard from the great composer to an Italian admirer, politely declining a request for copies of his music. Dated Morges, February 13, 1918. Translated from the French: "Monsieur: I am sorry that it is not possible to fulfill your request, because I possess only one copy of each of my works; mailing them during the war (with all the difficulties with customs in sending them abroad) opens a risk to which I would not like to expose myself. I believe you would do better if you addressed your inquiry to A. Casella, who has almost everything you desire. Please accept, Monsieur, my best regards, Igor Stravinsky." Typed Letter Signed to Warner Bros. about "Tchaikovsky"

An interesting typed letter signed from the important Russian-American film composer and conductor to Kenneth Hyman of Warner Bros., London, complaining about the lack of cooperation between Warner Bros. and Sovexportfilm for the film Tchaikovsky. Dated October 9, 1968. Tiomkin writes that Warner Bros. has not yet agreed on a budget for the European locations for the film, mentioning that "I am working in connection with this production without receiving any fees, merely receiving a share of gross receipts..." and goes on to urge Hyman, "...it is absolutely essential both from the viewpoint of international relations and of course my own interest in the film and my personal relationship and reputation with Sovexportfilm[...] that there be no further delay in completing the film." 2 pp. Light folding creases and staple holes; otherwise in fine condition. 8 x 10 inches (20.4 x 25.5 cm). "I love life" - Autograph Musical Quotation

AMQS titled "I love life" by the American composer and pianist, who toured America and Europe at the start of the century and later settled in Miami. Zucca wrote many popular songs which were frequently performed by Gadski, Galli-Curci, Tibbett and Nelson Eddy, among others. Two measures of music on a card, 12.6 x 8.5 cm. Mounted on a slip of paper 14.8 x 11 cm, on the verso of which is a photograph portrait of an unidentified man. Some wear around the edges; otherwise in fine condition.
