Newspaper caption affixed to verso states that the musicians are "going over the score to Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto, which Kapell will play with the Philharmonic under Bernstein tonight at the Stadium. Bernstein returned Saturday from a European conducting tour." Light creases, bumps to corners, else fine.

Fine copy in original blue cloth with a faux leather spine. A desirable early issue without the later added dedication to Alma Mahler. It is the first printed form of this mighty masterpiece, which was not published in full orchestral score until 1912. This fine copy is sold together here with a very rare original 4-page program from the first performance in Munich on 12 September 1910, conducted by the composer himself. Read More...
