Signed ASCAP First Day Cover

Superb autograph signature in blue ballpoint ink on a 1964 first day of issue "American Music" stamp cover, honoring the 50th anniversary of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. This item is particularly unusual, as the eccentric pianist was not at all associated with any major American piano works and the major American composers depicted on the cover are all totally absent from Gould’s eclectic discography. Autograph material by Gould is generally very scarce, and this is one of the more unusual items we've seen from him. In very fine condition, sold together with a reproduction portrait.
