Rare 1958 concert program from a 1958 Tel Aviv Recital by Glenn Gould published by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Gould performed works by Sweelinck, Schoenberg, Mozart and the complete Bach Goldberg Variations. December 13th 1958. English and Hebrew. 6.5" x 9.5". In good condition, with 2 filing holes well repaired, main fold reinforced by archival tape.
Superb autograph signature in blue ballpoint ink on a 1964 first day of issue "American Music" stamp cover, honoring the 50th anniversary of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. This item is particularly unusual, as the eccentric pianist was not at all associated with any major American piano works and the major American composers depicted on the cover are all totally absent from Gould’s eclectic discography. Autograph material by Gould is generally very scarce, and this is one of the more unusual items we've seen from him. In very fine condition, sold together with a reproduction portrait.

Garady made many portraits of the great pianist, and he was her favorite of the many artists who painted her. His work has appeared on the cover of her recordings and in books about her (Spycket). Interestingly, the artist was also the painting instructor of Tennessee Williams.

Racine, WIS: Whitman Publishing Co.. 1931. Rare paper booklet measuring 12 1/2" x 10 1/2", published in 1931 and containing within paper masks of some of comedy's greats of the era. These quirky masks, printed in red and black, were meant to be punched out and worn by hooking them behind the ears. The stars within include Charlie Chaplin, Jack Oakie, Joe E. Brown, Harold Lloyd (missing), Laurel and Hardy, Marie Dressler, Ben Turpin and more. Many masks are partially punched out from their sheets and some are missing the punched out areas within the ears. Oakie has a torn ear, otherwise in very good condition.
