Collection of 12 oversized doubleweight original studio portrait silver gelatin photographs of cast members from the classic 1939 film Gone with the Wind, including Clark Gable, Academy Award–winner Hattie McDaniel, Olivia de Havilland, Ann Rutherford, Alicia Rhett, Laura Hope Crews, Harry Davenport, Barbara O'Neil, Thomas Mitchell, Evelyn Keyes, Leslie Howard, and Carroll Nye.  Each with the studio SIP-108 etc. number to lower left corner, being the Gone With the Wind project number; all Selznick productions were assigned a specific number applied to photographs, costumes, etc. Light edgewear and rippling, mounting remnants to verso, overall in fine condition.  10 x 13 inches (25.4 x 33 cm.).  Together with a later poster promoting the 1989 home video release of the 50th Anniversary Edition of the film.  Folding creases, overall in fine condition.  23 x 36 inches (58.4 x 91.4 cm.). Typed Letter Signed regarding not having a ‘favorite’ song

Typed letter signed from the important composer and lyricist, replying to a letter from a fan.  On Sondheim's personal stationary and dated March 5, 1987, the letter begins, "Dear Mr. Juscik - / Thanks for the letter and the compliments.  Briefly (since I'm up to my neck in deadlines)"—Sondheim was in the final months of preparing Into the Woods for its Broadway debut—"I do indeed feel the way M. Simenon feels.  I try to avoid listening to any new music while I'm writing a show for exactly his reasons.  Otherwise, my listening habits have not changed at all.  I still enjoy and explore the kind of music I have in the past. / Yours sincerely, / Stephen Sondheim."  At the time of this letter, which is on Sondheim's personal stationary and dated March 5, 1987.  In very fine condition.  1 page. 5.75 x 7.75 inches (14.8 x 19.6 cm).
