Columbia Pictures promotional photograph for the 1951 film adaptation of Arthur Miller's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Death of a Salesman, signed by the American actor in black felt tip. In the acclaimed screen adaptation of the play, March offers a powerful performance as Willy Loman, the over-the-hill drummer who faces a personal turning point when he loses his job and attempts to make peace with his family and his life.  Interestingly, March had been considered for the part of Willy Loman in the original production of the play, but turned it down after reading the script.  In very fine condition.  8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm.). Postcard portrait photograph of the English actress, who has signed and inscribed within the negative: "A star danced, and under that I was born, Ellen Terry."  Ca. 1902.  Inscription in ink in an unknown hand beneath reads: "Have I sent you this before / Philips".  Terry ruled the English stage in her day and was a favorite of George Bernard Shaw.  Mild foxing; overall fine.  3.4 x 5.5 inches (8.6 x 13.9 cm.).

Trio of promotional photographs from Columbia Pictures' 1945 adventure film A Thousand and One Nights, a comedy set in the world of the One Thousand and One Nights folktales and which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Art Direction.  Two of the three photographs depict stars Cornel Wilde and Adele Jergens in a romantic embrace, with typed press captions mounted to verso.  Photographer's stamp  of Cronenweth to verso of both.  The third photograph shows Wilde by himself, perhaps sitting up in imitation of an eager dog.  In fine condition.  8 x 10 inches each (20.3 x 25.4 cm.). Original 1958 Château Mouton Rothschild bottle label, designed that year by the Spanish artist, who has signed "Dalí" in black felt tip.  Dalí had spent the preceding decade "in the heart of his classical period," creating "nineteen large canvases characterized by meticulously detailed images of religious, historical and scientific themes, or what Dalí called 'nuclear mysticism.' He became obsessed with geometry, DNA, divinity and experiment heavily with visual illusions." (The Dalí Museum)  Evidently, his fascination with religious themes influenced his choice of a lamb as the subject of the label's illustration.  In very fine condition. 3.8 x 5.75 inches (9.6 x 14.6 cm.).
