Signed bifold recital program from a performance at University Auditorium in Tucson, Arizona on December 8 & 9, 1969.   The American pianist, known for his mastery of German repertory and his piano trio performances with Isaac Stern and Leonard Rose, has penned his name in blue ink to the front cover.  The program included works by Haydn, Schubert and Beethoven. In fine condition. 4pp.  6 x 9 inches (15.24 x 22.9 cm.). Small tape remnant to inside edge, else fine.

Large Signed Pleyel Promotional Photograph

Signed photograph of the Polish-French harpsichordist shown playing a Pleyel grand piano with double keyboard.  Landowska has inscribed in her typical purple ink to the musicologist Johannes Franze and his wife, translated from the German, "To my dear friend J[ohannes] and Ilise Franze in fond memories and in intimate friendship. / Wanda Landowska / B.A. 1929."  The photograph is mounted to rigid card above a printed caption reading, translated from the Spanish, "Wanda Landowska exclusively plays Pleyel harpsichords."  Signature to a dark area of the image, some stray marks and nicks to the mount, else in fine condition.  Photograph 6.6 x 8.5 inches (16.8 x 21.6 cm.). Copy 22 / 1000, neatly signed in ink by the editors, Denise Restout and Robert Hawkins to the ffe and inscribed additionally by Restout and dated December 4, 1964 "For Vivian /  who knows, feels, and understands all there is in this book / with love / Denise" and with Hawkins signing again as "Hawky." Spine somewhat rubbed and scuffed, small tear to cloth at spine head, else fine and contained in a scuffed black slipcase with white titles and gold decorations. A nice association copy. Framed photograph of the great pianist and influential pedagogue, himself a pupil of Czerny and later the primary teacher of Paderewski, Gabrilowitsch, and Schnabel among many others!  Leschetizky has titled the quotation "Canzonetta Toscana" above two autograph measures from the piece, adding his signature and the date, "22 January 1912 / Vienna."  Unexamined out of frame, but apparently in fine condition.  Framed to 6.5 x 4.5 inches (16.5 x 11.4 cm.). Signed program from a January 26, 1967 recital of the supreme Russian violinist, together with Australian pianist Geoffrey Parsons, at Reardon Smith Lecture Theatre in Cardiff.  The concert, in the Welsh Committee of the Arts' fifth season of International Recitals,  included works by Handel, Bach, Beethoven, Paganini. A spirited portrait of the great violinist, a chromo-lithograph caricature published in the English weekly magazine Vanity Fair on May 25, 1889.  The artist Carlo Pellegrini, widely known as "Ape," was one of the most famous of the outstanding caricaturists who published in the magazine.  Small nick to upper left edge, strip of toning along top edge, else in fine condition. 10.5 x 15 inches (26.7 x 38.1 cm.).

Small rustic chocolate or biscuit mould in the shape of a cello, ca. 1800s, from France.  The surrounding incised text is indecipherable, however likely relates to the manufacturer of the chocolate.  Glazed earthenware, in fine condition.  19 x 9 centimeters.  A lovely decorative table item or paperweight!
