ALS from the French filmmaker to Professor Irma Antonetto of the Associazione Culturale Italiana, written a few months after Clair had completed a speaking tour of Italy.  13 May 60; 1 pp., on personal stationary.  Translated from the French, in part: "Your beautiful book once again makes me deplore my ignorance..." Two holes to left margin, else fine.  5.5 x 8.25 inches (14 x 21 cm.).  Together with an Italian-language document titled "The Author of Films, This Unknown," which provides details of Clair's March 1960 speaking dates and an unattributed French-language article with quotations from the director, stapled to a biography.   Read More...

Turner, D.H.
