Blue necktie, signed by an impressive group of more than 30 jazz musicians, including: Dexter Gordon, Dizzie Gillespie, Buck Clayton, Count Basie, Wendell Culley, Roy Eldridge, Russell Procope, Andy Downes, Marshal Royal, Velma Middleton, Milt Mezzrow, Jimmy Hamilton, Wally Bishop, Leo Hampton, Lionel Hampton, Bill Coleman, Ray Nance, Don Byas, Red Richards, Buddy Banks, Nelson Williams, Della Grayson, Lil Armstrong, Gene Sedric, and others. 44 inches (110 cm) long, apparently sized for a child. Some small repairs in black thread; some scattered stains; signatures in varying condition but overall very legible. Due to the difficulty of writing with ballpoint on silk, a number of the signers have written their names in block letters rather than their usual signing styles. Overall very good.

Group of 20 handbills, ca. 1967–1970, for rock performances in San Francisco, including shows by the Grateful Dead, the Mothers of Invention, Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane and other bands. The highly striking and colorful graphic designs in psychedelic style, many designed by Wes Wilson, advertise shows presented by rock impresario Bill Graham. Collection of Family Photographs

Collection of 29 unpublished glossy candid photos from the estate of singer-songwriter and Civil Rights activist, dating from between 1967 and 1996, ranging in size from 3.5 x 4.25 to 7 x 5, and several annotated on the front or reverse in Simone’s own hand. The majority of the images consist of Simone posing with friends, touring musicians, and various members of her family, with other photos showing Simone on holiday and playing the piano. Includes a few seemingly unrelated photos. In overall fine condition.

March 19, 1903. 16.75" long x 0.50 " wide. Fine condition. Presentation baton given to the great violin pedagogue Leopold Auer by a mens' choir. Ebony with sterling silver ferrule, end piece and metal lyre decoration on top. Inscribed to "M. G. Leopold Auer", "Männerchor". The endcap bears the etched initials "F.B." (possibly the maker?). Signed photograph from the important German pianist, inscribed to pianist Nikita Magaloff. Backhaus is shown standing with his arm on the piano and has penned at the head of the photograph: "To my dear colleague and good friend Nikita Magaloff / Wilhelm Backhaus / May 14th, 1963." A note on the verso in another hand indicates the photo was taken at Backhaus' concert in Bad Godesberg on May 6, 1962. Stamped on the verso by Camillo Fischer of Bonn. Photographed by Frank Wendt of Boonton, N.J., MacWilkie is shown in his kilt, holding bagpipes and with his beard falling to the ground in front of him. Uncommon large signed photograph of the legendary Italian pianist, inscribed to fellow pianist Nikita Magaloff. Michelangeli is shown in an animated moment in concert, and has signed and inscribed at the head (translated from the Italian): "To my colleague and friend Nikita Magaloff with esteem and affection. Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. Festival 1965." Stamped on the verso by photographer Tezuka. Signed material from Benedetti Michelangeli is rare in any format, and this is a particularly prize example in image, size, and association. Original outline of the Turkish pianist's right hand, traced in blue ink, boldly signed and dated May 11, 1958 on an album leaf titled "Forget-Me-Not." A very early signature from Biret, who signed at age 16 on the occasion of her first performance in Berlin. Note at the head reads (translated from the German): "The first appearance in Berlin in honor of the Turkish President Celal Boyar." Left edge rough and some light toning; overall in fine condition. 7.5 x 10 inches (19 x 25.7 cm).

Signed program from the important string quartet, who appeared with then 17-year-old pianist Peter Serkin at Boston's Jordan Hall on November 13, 1964. Serkin has signed on the cover, and quartet members Joseph Roisman, Alexander Schneider, Boris Kroyt and Mischa Schneider have signed on the first page of the program. The concert included quartets by Beethoven and Debussy, and Dvorak's piano quintet no. 2.
