An exceptionally rare signed mounted halftone photograph of the dancer shown as a Harlequin in the 1910 Fokine Ballets Russes production of 'Carnaval,' music by Robert Schumann and sets by Leon Bakst. Mounted to a cardstock sheet measuring 18 x 26.5 cm, the image is identified lower left in type "Bon De Meyer - Londres" and has been signed by the dancer  in ink with his name alone at the right "W. Programme Officiel des Ballets Russes Theatre du Chatelet Mai-Juin 1912.

Paris: 1912. Folio, original wrappers stapled as issued with a reproduction of the Bakst painting of Nijinski on the upper wrapper. Illustrated with black and white photographs and colour reproductions of sets and costumes, all framed within gold printed geometric borders. The official programme for the 1912 summer season of the Ballets Russes which includes an essay in French by Louis Delluc. Amongst the dancers photographed are Nijinski, Karsavina, Bonislava Nijinska, and Lydie Nelidoff. The set and costume designs are by Leon Bakst. The ballets performed during the season included "Le Spectre de la Rose", "Le Dieu Blue", "L'Oiseau de Feu" "L'Apres-midi d'un Faune" and "Petrouchka". It also featured the premiere on June 8th of "Daphnis et Chloe" scored by Ravel and designed by Leon Bakst.

Bold autograph "Best Wishes / Bill Robinson" on a page measuring 11 x 15 cm. Collector's notation at top of page ("World's Most Famous Tap Dancer / Nixon Dec. 29, 1939"), overall fine. Sold together with a gorgeous original vintage 8 x 10 inch photograph of the dapper dancer in top hot and tails, resting his white-gloved hands on his cane.

"A Guest" - Original Costume Design for The Nutcracker

A remarkable original costume design made by Benois for the 1957 production of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker first performed on 24 December by the Festival Ballet at the Royal Festival Hall, London. Pencil, indian ink, watercolours and body-colours, signed in pencil "Alexandre Benois" and identified at the head by the artist "Nutcracker - N. 18" and titled "Un invité" ["a guest"] and measuring 15.5 x 24 cm. Cover of a Royal Opera House souvenir programme, signed by Maria Callas, Charlie Chaplin and Tito Gobbi. The program comes from a performance of Tosca on Feburary 5, 1964, where Callas starred as Tosca opposite Gobbi's Scarpia, and which Chaplin evidently attended as an audience member. A few smudges to Chaplin's signature, light creasing, left edge rough. Overall fine. 7.25 x 6.75 inches (17.5 x 18.5 cm).

Typed note signed from the American mezzo-soprano, thanking composer and professor Peter Pindar Stearns for his work in the audition process at Mannes College of Music. Stevens served as the president of Mannes from 1975 to 1978. June 15, 1976; 1 p. Together with the original envelope.

Peter Pindar Stearns (1931–2016), the son of composer Theodore Stearns (1881–1935), was a composer, organist, and for many years professor at Mannes School of Music.

Signed postcard photograph from the legendary soprano, who is shown onstage in Donizetti's La Fille du Régiment at the Metropolitan Opera (likely in the 1972–73 production.) Sutherland has signed boldly in silver marker. Very fine. 6 x 4 inches (15.2 x 10.8 cm).

Signed program from a February 26, 1955 recital of the popular and powerful American tenor at Hunter College in New York. Tucker has signed at the head of the program listing, which is printed opposite the listing for an earlier concert of Wilhelm Backhaus. The recital included arias by Handel, Mendelssohn, Mozart, and Halévy. Area of heavy toning over the signature, with a paperclip mark, but overall in very good condition, together with a promotional flyer and a newspaper clipping about the concert. Program 7 x 10 inches (17.7 x 25.3 cm).
