Two Photographs:Hungarian-born conductor Antal Doráti, his Austrian-born wife, the British Labour Party deputy and the Liverpool-based music manager John Charles at some reception, with the Doratis holding wine glasses. By Anthony Marshall, London (hand stamp to verso). The persons (except for Charles) are identified in a typed label to the front. Oblong format, 6.75 x 8.75 inches (17 x 22.5 cm). In fine condition. Doráti was artistic director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from 1975 to 1978. Most likely, the photo dates from these years. Doráti had married von Alpenheim married in 1971.

Kempe was the artistic director of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from 1963 to 1975. The photograph probably dates from the final years of this period.
