[Decorating] Margaret H. Harmon.

Psycho-Decorating. What Homes Reveal about People

New York: Wyden. 1977. First. 8vo. 229 pp. Highly amusing volume by the American psychologist Margaret H. Harmon, Ph.D., positing that one can assess a person's motivation and attitudes by the way they decorate their home, backed by some interesting research, involving a hands-on, 127 question "Personal Decorating Inventory," in which each response represents one or more of 20 psychological trends. The personalities and homes of 100 women (no men) from diverse backgrounds and preferences were used, followed by an analysis. Stats and research are described at the conclusion of her book. With illustrations, some in color, as well as pertinent comic strips. A scarce book, this copy with price-clipped dj a little stained and worn, blue cloth boards somewhat scuffed to lower extremeties and spine, overall fine.  (22230)
