"Sonja Henie with Her Hollywood Ice Revue" - Souvenir Program

Souvenir program from the Norwegian figure skater's 1943-1944 Hollywood Ice Revue tour, which includes photographs of Henie in her "daily life," her trophy collection, and numerous stills from the 1943 musical Wintertime, in which she starred alongside Cesar Romero.  16 pp.  Red velvet cover with gold embossed design.  In fine condition.  9 x 12 inches (22.9 x 30.5 cm.).

Henie was a three-time figure skating Olympic Champion (1928, 1932, 1936) in Ladies Singles, a ten-time World Champion (1927-1936) and a six-time European Champion (1931-1936), winning more Olympic and World titles than any other ladies figure skater.  At the height of her acting career she was one of the highest paid stars in Hollywood.

From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
