"Celebrating the Fiftieth Anniversary of His American Debut" – Signed and Inscribed Promotional Booklet

Original promotional booklet celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the great Polish pianist's American debut, signed and inscribed to cover by Rosenthal, who has inscribed "To Mrs. Lois Harsch / with best greetings, / Moriz Rosenthal / Chicago Ills, June 28th 1938." The program compiles media praise and press coverage relating to his performances during the 1938–39 concert season.  Heavy soiling throughout, with significant water damage that has rendered the margins and fold lines brittle. 10.75 x 8.5 inches (27.3 x 21.6 cm.).

Rosenthal studied with Liszt for 9 years and was one of the most important pianists of the late 19th and first half of the 20th century.  A regular sonata partner of Fritz Kreisler, he toured frequently and left some fantastic recordings. (19447)
